Secure your child’s jaw before proceeding to the hospital. Use handkerchief, towel or tie to prevent the jaw from moving.

For broken braces
Take off components that you can easily remove. Create a barrier between the protruding material and the cheeks and/or lips using gum, dental wax or balls of cotton. Do not attempt to remove the wire of the braces if it is stuck in any area of the mouth.
